Carol Ramey

Carol Ramey, B.Sc., M.Sc., PID

Instructor, Adult Basic Education, Nanaimo
250-753-3245, Ext. 2495

A native of Vancouver Island, Carol's love of nature drew her to study biology and mathematics. She has done research on killer whales, bighorn sheep, chinook salmon, and buff-breasted sandpipers! While in high school and university she worked steadily as a swimming instructor, eventually becoming an instructor-trainer for the Red Cross. This gave her a love of teaching that lead to her becoming a lab coordinator at Carleton University and then to teaching ABE math and science, first at North Island College, then VIU. Carol's hope is to help her students change their lives through education.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
